yum.

So a couple weeks ago Brian and I made chocolate chip cookies.

I personally hate crunchy cookies, and luckily my mom is basically the best cookie-maker in the world. She always makes her cookies really chewy and delicious. If you still haven't found a really yummy, gooey chocolate chip cookie recipe, you should seriously try my mom's:

Jen's Chocolate Chip Cookies

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Add mixed dry ingredients. Mix well. Add chocolate chips. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 6-8 minutes. Take out of oven when slightly brown on edges (or even before they are slightly brown). Best when cookies are slightly underbaked-gooey! Allow to cool for a few minutes on cookie sheet before moving onto plate or wire rack.

My mom got me some silpats for our wedding and I LOVE THEM. So perfect for cookies too :) Thanks mom!

this girl is married

I'm married.

Weird.

Since I am going to be all domesticated now, I figured I should start posting on my blog again. I tend to do this...start my blog going and then stop, and then start it up again. But I'm hoping I will stick to it, or at least post SOMETHING every month. We'll see how that goes.

Brian and I have been married a whole month! We are practically veterans (not). But we have adjusted to married life quite well. Our {tiny} apartment is now set up. We have furniture and I've hung up pictures (on practically every wall...Brian thinks it's unnecessary but I think it looks homey). I thought that Brian would be super messy to live with, but I'm so glad that he has proved me wrong. When I leave papers on our kitchen table or clean clothes in the hamper for too long, he'll ask me, "so when are you going to put that away?" A lot of the time he'll clean up after me because he is too impatient for me to do it. It's great! He does the dishes pretty much everyday, mops the floor, puts his clothes away (he hasn't left clothes on the floor once), and is just overall a very clean guy. It's weird to think that I might be messier than he is. I hope he will keep this up cause it's super nice. (Thank you Val and Judy for raising him right. It paid off!)

Anyways we are loving life and love being married! I just love being with him all the time (he says I'm still too mushy and it's embarrassing). I always want to cuddle up to him at church and he has to remind me that we are in a public place. I tell him that this is the sort of obnoxious thing newlyweds do, but he ignores me. He doesn't want to be "those kind of newlyweds." haha whatever. I think he's crazy. And I just want to hold him all the time. He puts up with me and goes along with it. I love that boy.

I promise to keep this thing updated! I'll post "our story," the wedding day, and pictures of the apartment soon!
